Director's Heart: May 2012

We are excited about the great things God is doing through your partnership! Lives and cycles are literally being changed for eternity as we share the life-giving truths of Christ, His healing and restoration, biblical sexuality, and God’s plan for marriage and the family.
“New life has been given to me through my baby and through Christ!” ~ Lisandra
“Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you.” Joshua 1:3
As we partner together for life, we are fitting our feet with the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:15), asking God to bring victory as we continue to battle for life in Christ and take back ground the enemy has stolen. Your faithful prayer and financial support is making an eternal difference as the Lord expands our ministry and territory:
Walk for Life.. Shaking the Ground!
Posted by: karen |Dear LifeCare Partners,
We are excited about our new Walk for Life, and we are spiritually suiting up to take back ground and stand for LIFE, which the enemy has so violently destroyed on American soil. We are asking that you, our mission partners and warriors, join us as we prepare for this Walk.
We are praying to raise $50,000 through walker sponsorships to purchase life-affirming ultrasound machine and help sustain our new SouthShore Center!
We must put on the armor of God and shake the ground like the ancient men of war that Paul expounded upon when he penned about the armor of God in Ephesians 6. God is ready and waiting for the church of today to put on the armor of God and shake the ground like the ancient men of war! Romans 16:20 states, "And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly." The Greek word for bruise, suntribo, paints a graphic picture. It means the act of smashing and utterly crushing grapes into wine and can also mean the act of snapping, breaking, and crushing bones so terribly that they can never be mended or healed, utterly smashed and crushed beyond recognition. It is time for the body of Christ to unify and to have our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. It is time to take some hard, heavy steps and shake the ground.

“I was going to have an abortion. When I saw the baby models, had a sonogram at seven weeks, and listened to the counselor I decided to keep my baby. Now I am so happy with my baby boy and we are doing great. I have learned a lot about God and prayer through Bible study sessions. I currently don’t go to church, but the staff has given me a church referral list and I hope to start going soon. I’m so thankful for the staff and volunteers of LifeCare!” ~Liana

Legacy of Life
Looking back...
As I think about the history of LifeCare, I am amazed at what God has done! Little did I dream of the impact that this ministry would have on this community in these twenty-five years we’ve been serving. We have had over 61,000+ contacts since that first day, June 17, 1987. Four ladies from First United Methodist Church researched the need for, what was then called, Crisis Pregnancy Centers. The need was found to be great. I was asked to be the Director, not really knowing what that meant. I, a Board of Directors, and a number of interested people were trained by a pastor, Andy Merritt, from Columbus, GA, who had established many Pregnancy Centers around the southeastern part of the United States. We started with fifteen volunteers and myself. For many of our years we’ve had from 30 to 50+ volunteers working weekly four hour shifts in the daytime and two hour weekly shifts at night.
