Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of LifeCare! We currently have about 50 volunteers who share the love of Christ and serve at our Center. Without the faithful service and commitment of our volunteers, we could not minister to the needs of hundreds of women, couples, children and families that walk into our door each month.   

 

 

Volunteer opportunities include:

Client Counselor

Reach women with the compassion of Christ by offering practical assistance in both word and deed as a one-on-one caring helper.  Specifically, counselors listen, educate, intervene with communication skills, and provide a source of physical, emotional and spiritual hope to the women and families that seek our free services.  A four hour shift is preferred according to the schedule below.  Please call our office to find out more information and how you can qualify as a Client Counselor. The following are the needed shifts available.

Church Liaison

Represent the ministry to the church body for specific events, needs, or concerns of the ministry.  Specifically, liaisons provide the contact to the church for our annual Fundraising Banquet, Sanctity of Life Sunday, and annual Golf Challenge.

Abstinence Program Speaker

Speak on behalf of the teen sexuality education program, “Wait Training”.  Specifically, speakers are trained and available for speaking to any group on subjects related to sexual purity.

Special Events Planning Committees

Assist in the detail planning of the center’s annual fundraising events.  Specifically, helping with the planning and coordinating of the Ladies Spring Tea, Golf Challenge, Fall Banquet, and other special events.

Post Abortion Group Leader

Assist women through a healing process in the aftermath of abortion.  Specifically, leading or co-leading a short term Bible Study/Support Group as a moderator to facilitate a small group.

Mommy and Baby Boutique Assistant

Sort and organize clothing and items donated for the clients or assist clients as they shop in the boutique.

Administrative Support

Assist with data entry and special projects on the computer.

Birth of a Family Advocates

Mentoring couples are needed who want to encourage, teach, and support our client parenting couples to grow a lasting spiritual foundation for a healthy family.

Birthing/Parenting Program

Instruct and provide birthing, parenting, and baby care instruction classes for clients.  Specifically, speakers provide teaching in an area of expertise to a particular group of clients.

Prayer Team

Pray for specific client situations or needs of the ministry as they arise.

Boutique Donations

Through the "Teaching, Loving & Caring" (TLC) program, moms and couples can earn "Mommy Dollars" to purchase items in our Baby Boutique.  We are always in need for donations of the following items:

• Maternity clothes
• Baby clothing, layettes & blankets
• Formula & baby food
• Diapers, wipes & bath supplies
• Swings
• Playpens
• Highchairs
• Cribs

Items for donation must be new, like new, or barely used.  If you have a question about a specific item for donation, please call us.
