The Quest

I am relatively new to LifeCare, but I have certainly gained a lot in my short time with the Program. To start, I will say I had inaccurate expectations when I joined the men’s Quest meeting. My initial motivation was to mostly earn the “daddy dollars” you acquire at the end of each class. When I got there, I was expecting to learn primarily about being a daddy. I was surprised to find that at the age of 19, I was significantly younger than the majority of the group. It was also surpris- ing to learn that the majority of the lesson was to find, what Al calls, “Authentic Manhood.” Wow! Was I in for a lesson!! I once was in the “dark” but now I am in the Light! My relationship with God has strengthened since being educated as to what being a “man means to God.” My body was created in His Image and was crafted to fit the roll of a man as well as fill the needs of a woman. How harmoniously the two work together!! I would like to thank all the men in my Quest Group. Sharing their ex- periences in life has and will make my life a little better every day. I want to thank Al for his willingness and in- tentional sharing the lesson as the “leader.” Thanks to Eric for his rational speaking in relation to the lesson and all the other amazing men in my group. They taught me lessons they have learned through their years. Thank you to all of you who so sacrificially give to LifeCare. I am one who is very grateful and who, without you, would not have the benefit of these amazing men in my life!
Thank you! ~Kyle Goltry

The Director's Heart...Kingdom Focused

The Director’s Heart. . .
Kingdom Focused
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in.” The King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these, you did it unto Me.”
Matthew 25:34-35;40
Thank you for being Kingdom focused! Because you invest in the Kingdom of God through LifeCare, our doors are open to welcome, love and serve those who are in need of the hope and help of Christ. Together, we are inspiring life both physically and spiritually and lives are being saved and changed!
I hope many of you have heard by now about the need and vision for Haven of Hope, our Christ-centered hous- ing ministry for single women and their babies. We be-
lieve God is in the midst of fulfilling our dream for this home in our community at 720 Dew Bloom Road in Brandon! The homesite is a beautiful, colonial, two-story house located 5 minutes away from LifeCare with nearly 5000 square feet, 7 bedrooms, and 6 bathrooms on 1 acre. The house was appraised in June 2010 at $365,000 with an exceptional inspection; it is a foreclosure and is currently listed on the market for $269,000. Zoning has been ap- proved through the county and we are in process of state licensing. To date, $75,000 has been raised toward our goal of purchasing the house for $200,000 from the bank.
“I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in.” God sends pregnant women to LifeCare who are in desper- ate need of physical food and shelter, and more importantly, the spiritual bread of life and living water of Christ that alone can fill the soul and transform a life. It breaks our hearts when we have to turn them away because we are not able to feed and shelter them with the love of Christ. We are asking God to break our hearts for what breaks His. What does it really mean to be Kingdom focused? Clearly Christ is commanding us in His Word to put our faith in action, put hands and feet to our prayers and give our resources to meet the needs of those who are in need, both physically and spiritually. “Assuredly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these, you did it unto Me.” We are asking our supportive Pastors, churches, businesses, organizations, foundations and individuals to give toward making Ha- ven of Hope a reality in our community for the saving of many women and their children for future generations. Together, we can open this door of hope for promising futures. To- gether, we can see the fruit of many changed lives. And together, we can hear the Lord say, “ Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the founda- tion of the world.” Please contact me if you would like to schedule a vision tour of the house or if you would like
to make an eternal investment in the Kingdom of God through Haven of Hope.
Together for Hope,
Karen

Surrendering the Secret

"Abortion, it’s a topic that draws much attention from pro-choice to pro-life believers.  The sanctity of life being debated year in and year out;  I know because I chose abortion 10 years ago. Why? Because I was not ready for a baby at the age of twenty, it was going to ruin college and my career dreams.  I was sold into the deception of “my choice” so I willingly ended my child’s life.   I promised myself that I would not tell anyone since it was a private matter.

Make A Masterpiece Of Each Day......

I’m looking out the window at a huge oak tree robed in all its new foliage which is certainly one of God’s masterpieces.   The things God has made are so awe inspiring, but none more so than man.  It always amazes me to see how God works through man to make other masterpieces.  When Coach Wooden, a very famous basketball coach was interviewed for a book, he was asked how his father influenced his life.  His words were, “My father always said to us children that we should make of every day we live on this earth a masterpiece.”  To me this means that as we are seeking God’s plan for each day we can make a masterpiece.
