Who is Jesus?
Posted by: cookie - Mar 28, 2010In the Christian world today it is Palm Sunday. The church celebrates Jesus coming into Jerusalem at Passover riding on a donkey. This was just prior to His being arrested, illegally tried, and crucified. The road was filled with people spreading their cloaks and palm branches in His path as they shouted, " Hosanna, to the son of David." "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest Heaven." The city of Jerusalem was stirred with Jesus' presence and people asked, "Who is He?" The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Galilee in Nazareth." The people thought he would be the one to free them from Roman persecution. They yet didn't understand that He was God who came to die in order that they might have life everlasting.
Today, people are still asking, "Who is Jesus?"
Do you know who He is? Let me tell you who I know He is. He is the Creator, Savior, and Lord of my life as well as yours. He came to this earth so that we might know God; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the three in one. When we recognize who He is we then have the ability to have an intimate relationship with Him on a daily basis. We can live with joy and a peace that is not understandable.
Galations 2:20 which is my life scipture verse says, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." The idea here is that our union with Christ is accomplished not by human effort but by God's grace (a gift); it is not a loss of individual personality but a renewal of true personality; it is not a withdrawal into isolation but an involvement in service.
If you only know about Jesus in your head, please ask Him into your heart through a prayer like this: "Lord, I'm so sorry for the wrong things I've done. Through your death and resurrection I know I am forgiven. When I die I will be with you forever in Heaven. Please come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you Jesus. Amen."
