What the perspective of an unborn baby might be..............
Posted by: cookie - Mar 16, 2010I wrote this for LifeCare Newsletter last year. I thought it was worth repeating for those who didn't see it. ~ Cookie
One day I began to take note of my surroundings as being a warm and seemingly very safe place. There was also this pleasant rhythmic sound rather like a soft drum beat that was most comforting. I began to hear voices; I think they were my Mommy and Daddy. I liked the sound of their voices because they seemed so happy. I don't think they knew I was there in my Mommy's tummy.
Then things began to change. The voices became unhappy and scared. My Mommy was sick and cried a lot. I tried to comfort her with my touch, but I don't think she could feel me. Soon she started putting her hands on her stomach trying to connect with me and that's when I knew she knew I was there. I wondered why she cried all the time; surely she was happy to know I existed?
I started listening intently to their conversations so I might learn what was happening. Mommy said, "I don't know what we're going to do! My parents will be so mad at me." Daddy came back with, "We can't afford this baby or take care of it! I've heard about abortion, maybe we should do that." I wondered what abortion meant and began to feel very afraid.
A few days later Mommy was talking with her friend and telling her all about me and, of course, crying again. Her friend said, "I think you should go to this place called LifeCare. I've heard they can help people in trouble." The next thing I knew we were walking in the door of this LifeCare place and a very nice lady was saying, "How may I help you?" My Daddy said, "We're pregnant and we don't know what to do."
These words began a relationship with a wonderful group of people that helped my parents gain hope in this very difficult circumstance. The issue of abortion was addressed first and because of their good counsel, Mommy and Daddy chose life for me. They were encouraged to tell my grandparents right away and discovered just how much they were loved (including me) even through their disappointment.
While they're waiting for me to be born, Mommy and Daddy are participating in a program called Teaching, Loving, & Caring where they are learning about pregnancy, nutrition, birthing, baby care, and parenting skills. Most importantly they're learning about God and how His son Jesus died on the Cross to take away their sins and give them hope of eternal life. While doing all of this they're earning "Mommy Dollars" that helps them get all the things they need to care for me. Soon they'll be taking the Birth of a Family class that focuses on marriage, communicating, budget planning, and about building a family on spiritual truth.
They've been talking a lot about me lately and now sound really happy. They are looking forward to forming a family on God's principles and teaching me all about those things.
I'm so thankful for LifeCare and hope one day I can communicate my thanks to these wonderful people who have loved and helped us so much. I'm also grateful to the many generous people who give to this ministry. Because of this generosity they're able to help us and so many others.
